Voter Registration

with one comment

There’s a lot of talk on our department listserv lately about getting our students registered to vote, a noteworthy act, indeed. The past few weeks, I’ve been debating about how to bring this up in class without sounding too partisan, or too stereotypical academic-leftist. Then I realized, I don’t overtly bring partisan politics into the classroom anyway, and could effectively bring the registration forms without problem. I did it today, and one student asked for a form. I felt very proud 🙂

If you’re not registered, here’s the link for MI voters. Go register and vote.

  1. Two sections and not one of my students took a form. I’m assuming they’re all hard-right Christian fundies and if Barry O loses, I’m failing the lot of them.
